Archibald Thomas Robertson ( (1863-1934) is viewed as the most important Baptist New Testament scholar. Perhaps his most seminal work is the Word Pictures in the New Testament, published originally in six volumes, which is a hermeneutical commentary on the four Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, the Epistles and the Revelation. In this work, Robertson explains, verse by verse, the meaning and sense of the words and phrases, taking into account the context of the language in which the Scriptures were writen.
